These oven mitts were working well for me. When the stains from the occasional contact with food made them appear dirty, I decided to wash, then air-dry them. As soon as I got them out of the washer I noticed the silver color of the coating was gone, and underneath was just bare gray cotton material. Needless to say they no longer have the same heat-resistant properties as before. The previous reviewer says it's not built to last, and I agree. I am puzzled why another reviewer says she "washes/dries them all the time" and is still happily using these mitts.

My interpretation of "Commercial" equals "Heavy-Duty" or "Built to last". These gloves do not deserve that description. They are lightweights compared to my previous Weber oven mitts. I'll use them until they fail and then I'll buy leather fireplace gloves or Weber oven mitts to replace them (which I expect to be in the very near future).



12/08: Yup they're history. 450 degree Dutch oven killed them.

I have been using these for over a year now. My husband use to have to get me some in my stocking every Christmas - but these things are still working - and I use them almost everyday - and wash/dry them a lot too! I will purchase another pair when these finally wear out. They are the best I have used!

I bought this set to supplement a Cook for the Cure KitchenAid piece that I already had. And sadly, there is no comparison. They are a pretty shade of pink, but are not practical for regular use. The teflon is coming off in large patches in my large sauce pan. The pink enamel hasn't chipped, but it picks up every black scuff and isn't very attractive any longer. The handles are not silicon (as originally thought), but some kind of plastic which is wearing badly from regular use. I paid a fair amount of money for the set, and so plan on using them until they fall apart... but that could be any day now.



I wouldn't buy another thing from this company.

These are a very pretty shade of pink but they don't hold up at all to regular use. I used the frying pan about four times and it started to peel. I kept the temperature at medium to low as you're supposed to with non-stick and only cleaned with water and a sponge. I didn't bother keeping the set with the controversy around non-stick and high temperatures. Save your money or buy the much, much better blinQ set - which I did (all stainless). It was a nice idea but poorly executed.

Not only can some of your money go to research, you can expose yourself to noxious carcinogens, too.



Great idea.

Maybe Marlboro can get right on pink cigarettes, too.



This one is a must miss.

If you really want to do some good, get yourself some stainless steel pans, and donate five bucks directly to breast cancer reasearch through Susan Komen, or breast cancer dot org, or the american cancer society, and prevent exposig yourself to the carcinogens.

I think this is a very cute set. It is a perfect gift for your average pink kitchen lover. However, I am not sure how pratical these pans are. I am a collector, so I have no intention of ever using them to cook with. It seems to me like these pans are more for show. I don't think they would stand the test of time, if they were used regularly. The paint seems like it would chip easily. Also, the large lid does not fit the large frying pan. The rest of the pans and lids fit each other fine. All in all I think it is a very beautiful set. This cookware set is rare, not alot of merchants offer this kind of product. They should be used moderatly, if even used at all. If you want a durable everyday-use cookware set go with T-Fal.

The dishes are basically nice, but the labels on the products were terrible to get off and, in one of the dishes, left a faint print of the words that were on the label. It is fading in time, but it was a problem that was not easily solvable. I used "professional" removers and they had no effect on the label--what ended up working was sink cleaner and elbow grease. I like the dishes and use them at least once a week--perfect for very small portions and handy if there are only two people in the home.

This corning ware product is great for individual servings. I'm very busy so often cook on sunday for the week. I put about 8 servings into these dishes and freeze for the week. If I'm too tired to fix something when I get home I pull a meal from the freezer and it's ready to go. I don't like to reheat in the microwave in plastic. I think this is a much healthier alternative. They are also the perfect size for one serving. They are sturdy and last just about forever incuding the cover. I haven't had the same luck with other products. They would be a little difficult to use for an older adult however because the top on the newer version is more difficult to remove. I ordered these thinking they were the 23 ounce version of the pop-ins, they are not they are about 2/3 the size. I have 3 of the 23 ounce version. The bigger ones are great for me for taking a lunch to work because I can put all my lunch in there, a meat and a couple of sides. Unfortunately if you are like me and like to stuff as much as you can into as small a space as you can, you end up breaking the lid. Yes, I broke 3 lids. I had been using them for about 7 years before without a problem.



These were a replacement for the bigger ones. The smaller ones can't really fit a full lunch inside of them, probably a meat and maybe one side. That's not great because now I'll need to carry 2 of them to bring a full lunch. They also aren't as thick (i.e. durable) ceramic as the bigger ones.



I can't really complain about them except for the size. They work fine otherwise.

I bought two sets (8 containers) of these about 3 months ago, and I absolutely love them. The shallow dimensions make them equally ideal for casseroles and cuts of meat, and their smaller size (a nice 2 cups) helps with portion control. They're much more durable than plastic lunch containers, and they can be reheated over and over without any signs of wear. I highly recommend these; I'll never go back to plastic!

The Ove Glove is a great product. I've been using them for years. Potholders can slide around and regular oven mitts don't let you use your fingers independently to get a good grip. The Ove Glove lets you lift pot lids, maneuver foil that's slipping under or over a roast, and take care of any task you might need to do on a hot pot or in an oven. I bought this one as a gift -- my original one is still working fine and it has to be at least ten years old.

I love these mitts. They're the best mitts I ever used but just a little disappointed that they caught on fire. I accidently left the oven mitts in the broiler when I pressed preheat on the oven and the mitts went up in flames. I had to go out and buy two new oven mitts which kinda sucked. I guess the mitts aren't great when left under an open flame.

I broke down and bought an Ove Glove about a year ago after debating whether to try. The price was what held me back, and that would still be one of the reasons for the loss of a star. The other would be that you cannot hold onto a hot item for very long. I think traditional oven mitts keep your hand insulated a bit longer than the Ove Glove. That said, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. The glove style allows excellent dexterity and the rubbery grippers really hold on and don't allow the item to slip from your hand. A plus is that you can machine wash these. I tried that with my old oven mitts and the insulation shredded! While the Ove Glove is pricey, I still lack a pair and should have sprung for another one long before this. It's on my to-do list for the future because this really is useful.
